Sense: when do I make sense? This is mainly for me to see if I can put two sentences together. Is coherency a viable commodity I possess? How is my arsenal of wordy worldly weapons?
My typos are notorious-I wish typing was one of my strong points- but alas-not so.
I am in the last semester of getting my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction. I will graduate May 5th.
I am doing an action research project about a personality test that I give my students to help me immediately know them better. It really works for me, and I want to somewhat prove it can work for any upperclass students. I am not sure if it would work for younger kids? Someone could try?
I ask my students to fill out an interest survey.
In the interest survey I place strategic questions that help me and the student to know themselves better. I ask four questions that help me to understand the student fast.
One question: " List your brothers and sisters by name and by age". From this question I can learn birth order, how many boys vs. girls siblings, maybe a little about the family financial situation, and whether I know any of their siblings as former students in my classroom as well as other teachers classrooms.
The other questions:
"What is your favorite color to wear : use three words to describe how you feel when you wear that color?
What is your favorite animal and use three descriptive words or attributes you admire about that animal.
Lastly, what is your favorite season and how do you feel during that season?
The questions really have another meaning. The answers can help me to understand this person quickly. My research is to show how well this test works and what I learn about the students as well as what they can learn about themselves.
I decided to remove the true meaning of the questions...if you want to know the meaning, you will have to ask.
